Ulrich Schnauss
Ulrich Schnauss sounds like the type of artist who just had too many musical influences growing up. So when it came time to record his own music, rather than pick one style, he just had a go at it all, blending it all into the same songs. The result is the general feel of Casino Versus Japan with the production style of Manitoba, but with an energy that can just naturally change where it's necessary. Poor Ulrich. He hurt his hand on the first day of his little US tour and had to cancel the rest of the dates. It really would be a treat to hear all those synths in a sort of wall of sound type desplay. Plus, he was opening for M83, who I think he's far superior to.
Sigh, it's fate. I've missed him twice in Berlin and now once here in the states. He reports he'll be back to make up the dates in '05
